I am a 20 year old male who has grown up watching hockey on tv and playing mini sticks at school with friends.  I have played the NHL video game since I was a kid and have fallen in love with the concept of having a simulation of real-life hockey players who pass to each other, play their positions to the best of their abilities and of course score some super crafty goals.  I have played floor hockey in gym class in high school and my teacher said I had crazy skills and a nice shot and also assumed I played AAA ice hockey which is one of the biggest compliments I’ve ever gotten.  I have always wanted to play hockey but my parents never could afford it so I went with soccer instead but always had this part of me that wishes hockey was just a bit easier to afford.  I won the district championship for my school district in soccer in high school and felt very accomplished but if I wasn’t practicing juggling a soccer ball in my front yard then I would’ve been in my basement shooting road hockey balls and hockey pucks trying to get better at aiming.  Sorry for the long introduction but playing hockey is my dream and after graduating high school I never took myself seriously enough to get into learning how to skate or get into programs for hockey because I didn’t know what to do with my life from there but I think now I am ready to give it my all and hope that some day soon I’ll be playing hockey and if it’s on ice, a road or a floor I’ll still be happy for myself and proud for the motivation I have given myself.
